Lauryn decided to enter the Reflections art contest which is sponsored by the Prosser PTA. This year the theme was "Wow"! The students had to create a piece of art that reflected what "wow" meant to them. Lauryn chose to draw a volcano as her entry in the contest. She received 2nd place in her age group for her work. She just kept saying, "I can't believe I got 2nd place. I'm so excited!"
It was definitely a "Wow" experience for me because I vaguely remember signing a piece of paper giving her permission to participate and next thing you know we are invited to the program and awards ceremony. She took it upon herself to pursue the project during her lunch-time at school.

(an exclamation of surprise, wonder, pleasure, or the like): Wow! Look at that!
We are so proud of our little artist. She already has plans on entering next year.

Way to go, Lauryn!!! Did you wear your "Bubba" teeth when you received your award?! How funny would have that been? We're very proud of you!
